Smart Homes 2011 a great success!

Thank you to all delegates, visitors, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors that made the 2nd annual Smart Homes conference and exhibition in Amsterdam a great success!

We would like to extend our warmest appreciation to our Platinum Sponsors Dialog Semiconductor, GE Energy and Intel, Silver Sponsors Green Energy Options and Yoga and Bronze Sponsors eQ3, fifthplay, RWE, There Corporation and Z-Wave.

The audience
In total 457 smart home pioneers and 4488 smart metering experts attended the event compared to 3821 participants in 2010, showing once again that this is the industry leading meeting place for smart utility professionals.

This successful event shows proves that Smart Homes is at the forefront of the utility and telco agendas.  Many issues have been discussed but still unsolved. We therefore look forward to meeting you on 9-11 October 2012 again to continue the discussion and make market progression.

Conference highlights
2011 has seen smart homes transition from a future focused concept of technical trials and pilot projects to a market on the verge of mass deployment. Smart Homes 2011 featured RWE, T-systems showcasing their products set for deployment, and numerous other consortiums and solution providers set to go to market.
Additionally, the agenda saw a shift from utility and energy led perspectives to a broader focus on the world of connected home. The general transition has been away from smart homes as a demand management too, and more towards customer centric solutions including security, healthcare, media reflecting the ‘apps’ centric world that consumers live in.

Standout presentations included Panasonic’s ‘What did you say? Did you speak to your fridge today?’, British Gas’ vision for the future, and the transition of utilities to ‘services companies’, T-Systems’ ‘Smart Connect- the platform which will make the mass market’, and RWE’s ‘Taking Smart Home to Market’.

Exhibition highlights
Smart Homes 2011 surpassed expectations not just in the conference but also with its growing exhibition. Larger than last year, the exhibition provided an opportunity for delegates and visitors to connect with 32 smart home solutions providers.

The exhibition floor remained busy throughout the 3 days as exhibitors used the opportunity to meet potential customers and partners and offered participants the chance to source new suppliers by testing and comparing products.
